Where to eat in Edmund Oklahoma?

I will be in Edmund, Oklahoma for a couple of nights this week. Anyone know some good local-flavor places to eat? Breakfast, dinner, lunch, whatever. Any good BBQ? Steak? Pizza? Would prefer local joints (not chains), and places that won't be crowded or loud on Thursday/Friday evenings. Also, this is a business trip, so can be nicer places.

Any nearby places for short outdoor hikes in the evening?

Anything else?

Bob W,
Charleston's (mid to nicer) has good food but is pretty busy and is kind of noisy. I was in Edmond last summer visiting (grew up there) and ate lunch there with my parents. In Edmond you are close to OKC where lots of other good restaurants are located. You just head out on Broadway Extension and decide how far you want to drive, but watch your speed as lots of tickets are given (even though everybody is speeding) in the stretch where Edmond and OKC meet, by very stealthy motorcycle LEOs.
Hideaway (local to OK chain; I worked there decades ago) has good pizza. Arcadia Lake is close by but I have no clue as to hikeability of the place.
There are lots of Tex-Mex restaurants around but I doubt you are hurting for that.
all da best,
rats...

Anyone know if there are hiking trails or walking paths around Arcadia Lake? I see that's very close to Edmund.

My highway map isn't showing any parks or recreation areas in the Edmund area. :(

County Line is down by Remmington Park and they do pretty good BBQ.
Lake Hefner is fairly close to Edmond and I have seen lots of joggers there even though it isn't exactly countryside.

dude,

if you're in OKC area, you need to get a steak at cattleman's steakhouse. It's south of Edmond, about 15 minutes. Call me and I'll go with you....;)

I'm making a note of all this. I'm not sure where the company is putting us up exactly or where the other fellow will want to eat, but this variety of suggested is absolutely appreciated.

Cattleman's, yes; County Line, maybe as County Line used to (not sure about today) only do beef bbq. C'mon, what's bbq without a dead pig involved?
If you play golf a world class course, Oak Tree is right there. Not sure about getting into the place though...

I'm out here in Yukon instead. The class was in Edmond, but boss made hotel reservations in Yukon, about a block from his house... "Bad Brad's" BBQ in Yukon was OK last night - it's a small chain here.

Can't wait to get back home though - it's hot and muggy here in this OK City west-side suburban hell...

Edmond to Yukon is a bit of distance. Yup nice and humid, that's how I remember it. And so flat you look under your car and see a dog scratching itself five miles away...

How about Toby Keith's "I love this Bar and Grill" I park my rig near the Bass Pro Shops and eat there when I go through and have the time. Actually Bass Pro has good food at their restaurant if you have never been. Also off I44 you can see a movie for cheap $3.50 at Tinseltown. It's also right across the street from the National Cowboy museum.

Finally made it home from OK City. Nothing unpleasant happened but I wouldn't care if I never visited again, and wild horses couldn't drag me to live there.

I didn't get to try every restaurant suggested, but they were sincerely appreciated. Food in OKC is actually pretty good. Bad Brad's BBQ, Charleston's, a Chinese buffet in Yukon, Primo's, Double D Saloon...

But Holy Cow there is nothing to do there! Nearest public land is hundreds of miles away. Visited one of the lakes, good for five minutes of wave watching. Drove 35 miles north to visit the Chisholm Trail Museum (one of the few scenic items listed on the road map) - it was closed. One day I didn't have a vehicle so was stuck in a motel at I40 and Mustang Ranch - miserable.

Just before dark on the last night, I did get lucky (and lost) and stumble upon a place for a very short walk, the Stinchcomb Wildlife Refuge. The trail consisted of a flat bulldozed road that went a mile or two then dead ended. A couple of snakes, squirrels, and lots of deer tracks. Looked like a creek with nice beaches alongside the trail in some places but there was no way to get through the poison ivy to the water or sand. I still caught poison ivy... but had a nice hour-long walk anyway.

I was impressed by the state capitol building. Very classy. It was closed and empty at the time, but I had a nice browse around the grounds. Why does the Governor needs 34 parking spaces? :)

Summarizing OK City: for those planning a potential trip
Food - good
Weather - poor to fair
Sprawling yuppie subdivision rating - miserable
People - OK
Outdoor opportunities - almost none, with virtually no public land
Traffic - not bad

Thanks again!
