Were will I find ferric chloride acid in Australia NSW I can order online because it can't go in post

Make it from steel wool and muriatic acid (hydrochloric acid). Both can be found at most hardware stores. Brick/masonry suppliers also carry muriatic acid.
Dissolve 200-300 grams of steel wool in a liter of HCl. Do this outside in a well ventilated place. Use a large ceramic pot. Plastic will melt when the mixture gets hot.
You also need hydrogen peroxide to finish the reaction. Get 6% H2O2 at a beauty supply or from a beauty shop where you know one of the hairdressers. If not available, the 3% from the pharmacy will work. Add 1 liter of H2O2 slowly while stirring. If/when the mixture gets too hot, let it cool a while before adding the rest.
Stir well and let it sit covered for a day. Slowly pour off into a heavy plastic or glass container, or pour into the etching tank (usually PVC). Dilute the sludge/dregs with a gallon of water and pour out in the garden, it is not dangerous.

I've done this, works just as well as store bought.

If I do that do I still have to add water to the mixture at the end ?

Make sure to degrease the steel wool first, most comes coated in oil, you don't want oily ferric. you also may not want to dilute it at first, the hydrogen peroxide being 94-97% water will do a lot of diluting.

what about places like Melbourne Etching Supplies ?

They sell and ship, they get supplies shipped to them.
There must be a way.

Can I use stainless steel wool or small iron nails ?

Stainless steel will not work. Iron nails would work, but most nails today have a coating. Plain steel wool is best. Just degrease it by washing well in dish soap and hot water and rinse several times in hot water. Some hardware stores and suppliers sell it already degreased. It is marked on the package "Degreased".
