Where to get training question.

Chris, I am wanting to get training on how to take care of myself and my family in urban situations and was wondering what you would suggest. I don't know of any schools in my area (Edmonton, Alberta, Canada). I have always believed that an instructor is better than learning from tapes, but I will take what I can get.
