Hello everyone, I am looking to purchase a LCD monitor. I would like to get a 19". I see that the Envision EN 9410 is selling for $289.99. I have a certificate for $30.00 off and Envision has a $30.00 rebate. So I can get this for $239.99 plus tax. Is there any other options out there for me? How aboout a LCD computer/tv monitor? Your replies are greatly appreciated.

Watch www.slickdeals.net. You should be able to score a Dell 1905FP for around $300.00 shipped. This monitor ROCKS! It's based on teh latest Samsung 19" panel with great ergos and an awesome image. It's also fast enough for FPS gaming like HL2 or Counter Strike Source.

I know three folks besides me who have bought these and everyone is blown away for the price.

Thanks for the link. It has some awesome deals. I was just reading about the 1905 at pcworld.com, this got great review and best deal.

I have a Syncmaster 192MP. It is a Samsung LCD/TV. I can surf web and tv simultaneously--love it. It is also nice to have an extra TV when the kids disagree on what to watch. Now all I need is an attached isolation tank.

Samsung's are the ones to get. Specifically the "N's" and "T's". Only two manufacturers make all the LCD flat panels sold to other's (at least last time I looked). And yes, Samsung was one of the two. I think the other was a joint venture between Sony and Hyundai.

I use the 172N models at home on my personal PC and at work. I can go one resolution higher on this 17 inch panel then I can on a 19 inch monitor so, 1280x1024 works just fine. For $230 it's hard to go wrong.

When you look at other LCD's, pay attention to contrast, off angle viewing, brightness, and the other factors. Inferior LCD panels only look good when looking straight into them, blur more with motion, and can loose color definition. You get what you pay for here so, skimp by $30 and get an inferior model or spend it and enjoy a superior monitor for many years. My panels at work have run continuously for about 5 years now with no performance degradation. The HP flat panels at work have failed due to defects, been recalled for safety, etc. and done at 3 years. YMMV.

Chazz, I too would avoid the "E" versions of Dell's monitors because tehy lack a DVI in put, but the FP versions are really about as good as it gets these days. The 1905FL is the same panel as in the Samsung 193P. With high contrast ratios and a 20ms pixel response time they're good for about anything you'd want to do.

Here's a review from anandtech.com which is a pretty good tech review site. They really liked it.

Thanks for the great info. I really like the Samsung display. I would really like to get something that I can use as Pc monitor and have multi inputs for dvd or satellite. Anything quality wise like that spyderkut at a lower price. I don't really need pip, I could switch between inputs.

cant help you on this part i now nothin about the other hookups for displays.

i would call a place you would like to buy from and talk to someone there, they might put you right were you want to be.
