Which Manix 2?

Looking for a Manix 2 to be my next Spyderco. I've thought about the plain Jane S30V black g10 but was thinking of holding out for a sprint/exclusive. Man what I would REALLY like would be for a return of the G10 Rex 45 and burnt orange g10 scales, that just looks cool to me. Not really wanting FRN for a Manix not that there's anything wrong with FRN as I already have a dragonfly and Native 5 in one.
 
The Rex45 LW version is my favorite.
There is nothing wrong with the standard S30V version. If you want a "fancier" steel then look for the S110V version, and pick up a sufficient sharpening device to go along with it.
 
Yeah S30V is still a great steel, even if it's been outclassed in some aspects by a lot of the newer super steels. Easy enough to just buy some new scales and throw them on there too. If you can wait though, the Big Brown Bear 15V Sprint Run Manix 2 should be coming out I heard iirc around December maybe.

FRN is garbage.

I'm waiting for them to release Magamet with G10. Preferably in DLC but... probably not.

I actually just bought that S110V version. The G10 blurple color is not something I'd want to carry around. I replaced the scales, clip, cage.

Manix 2 is a favorite carry for me.
There is a brown sprint run 15v coming up. Tbh s30v is a great steel, if you like the look I would go for it.
Scales can be changed if that's what you like.

I just picked up a plain ‘ol XL with S30V/G10 from the Knife Exchange. Loving it and the price paid.

I prefer not to get black scales, but on a knife this big, all the attention is on the blade. Black scales suit it well.

The plain g10 version imo is the best bang for buck. I really like my all black lightweight though cuz it's so light I hardly notice it in my pocket and I'm a sucker for dlc coated blades haha
 
A G10 PE satin S30V Manix2 XL is the 1st Spyderco that I bought when I started actively collecting Spydercos (and other knives) about 5 years ago.

Bought a few Spydercos before that but that was about 30 years earlier. Bought the XL cheap at a gun show and still own it now. :)
 
XL is a BFK (big flippin knife) for sure. I have a RAT1 that I use exclusively for work which is a little bigger than what I would like to edc. 3.5 is about my limit, but the XL is a rockin tool for sure. I may just go with black and s30; I don't have any plain black in my collection yet :P
