Which type of loctite should I use for a folder?

Blue and purple are both fine. With either, as long as you don't cake the screw in it, you'll be able to remove the screw just with a screwdriver.

I use blue because I have a whole jug full of it. Purple is probably the better choice unless you have lightly stripped screws, in which case blue for sure.

Blue...And remember that a little goes a long way...Just a drop.

I prefer teflon tape. You don't have to wait for it to dry either and it's not as messy.

I use blue. Purple would probably work as others have said. DO NOT USE red.

What stores can you find it in? I tried home depot, wally world and lowes maybe its there and i'm just not good at looking, but all I saw were super glues and something tells me this is different.

You can find it online easy, Amazon has it.

Also Chris Reeve and Andrew Demko recommend Purple and it comes in the ZAAN tool kit.

Use the blue real sparingly. Look for am automotive fasteners store or something in town for a good selection. The glue sticks are great, you can use a tooth pick to meter how much you use.

Also, home depot and lowes carry loctite. Auto parts stores always carry it also. You maybe have better luck finding permatex branded thread locker. It works just as well.

ok so its just my usual, not paying enough attention thanks.

I use 222. I have a full bottle and use it exclusively for my folders. I have used 242 with no problems though.

I use blue, just barely rubbing a tiny bit on one side of the thread will do. If it's oozing out after you tighten the screw... you're doing it wrong.
