Recommendation? Who makes a good fixed karambit?

The only thing easily available I can think of right now that'll tickle your fancy is the CRKT Du Hoc. Tough steel, good knife. Sheath leaves something to be desired, but you can make it work with some creativity.

A tiny neck-carry oriented option is the TOPS Quickie.

Other than that, nothing I know of that's double edged and worth it's weight. There's the Schrade McNasty, but I'd avoid that, and similar mall ninja offerings.

The knife industry is pretty lacking in the karambit realm, which is a shame in my opinion. I've even asked if a custom maker would make me a karambit, and he said he wouldn't do it :(

I'd throw in that the Bastinelli Kalinou is pretty close to a traditional karambit, but again second edge needs to be sharpened.

I can't really say I'm a CRKT fan. I guess they didn't really impress me back when i was getting into knives in the late 90's early 2000's. That was the last time i bought one. Have they come up in quality and less gimicky? Bastinelli has been a company i've been looking for but the double edge is something difficult to find. I didn't list folders since having a double edge on a folder is a no brainer. I do like the blade shape they offer though.

I'm in the market for a good karambit myself.
I'm going to purchase a fox karambit however. ( I have never need a fixed blade other than throwing at trees).

Is there a reason you want a double edge on a karambit ?
I don't see any benefit to a double edge.

Attn2Detail Mercantile makes double edged Karambits that may be what you're looking for.
I haven't handled any of their blades yet so YMMV.

Good luck!

Check out the multiple threads about Derespina on the GBU before before sending him money. It's been almost 10 yrs since I placed my order... probably 4 since I got any response from him.

Didn't know that!! Sorry to hear it! Just found some of his stuff interesting, not my cup of tea but interesting nonetheless.

I've found fox knives now... there aren't that many knives with my requirement of double edge.

My next question is, are the folding karambits reliable lock wise? Frame or liner? I've found both. I prefer fixed but now that double edge seems to be difficult to find, I'm somewhat open to folding.
Brands?

Need to make lots of reverse cuts in self defense in good ole Connecticut?
Right... Yet with designed use of a karambit I don't see how it would be useful.
Maybe I'm dumb, and need to look more at how it could be used.
Read up on karambit use as well as how it's used in Filipino martial arts...

As far as the comment in ct. Should I not carry a firearm either since I live in ct?

Oh I know how it's used, I just find it funny when people gear up like they are going into a war zone and they live somewhere relatively safe. Got my pistol, 12 spare mags, a combat knife, my specialty martial arts knife, my back up knife and a Leatherman in case I need to disarm a nuke. Now it's safe to go buy some milk.

Gives me the chuckles, that's all.
