Recommendation? Who makes the best V-42 Replica Devils Brigade Knife?

The Spartan V14 may be what you're looking for.

The Spartan Blades one looks nice to me although I've no personal experience with it.

Hi, the Spartan is stainless, therefore, lacks lateral strength, so I would not be interested in it. Should be carbon.

Thank you,

JC :)

The Spartan blades is probably going to be the best version of the v42. Their v-14 dagger is not an exact replica, but rather an updated version and is simply beautiful. Spartan Blades makes amazing stuff, easily on the level of most customs. Also in my experience Spartan knives come with excellent sheaths. To me a fixed blade is only as good as its sheath. They have done a few of these updates to historical knife patterns. They did a Spartan Ek knife too for example.

There is also the Suppressor from Extrema Ratio which is very similar into design to the v42 raider stilleto pattern. Seems to come with interchangeable pommels. (For flat striking surface or spiked “skull crusher”)

Not sure of you are interested in these updated fighting daggers or if you were more looking for a replica of the ww2 pattern v42.

That statement is totally untrue. We have something today called modern steel. It was only in the now fairly distant past that stainless blades did not make durable blades.

Infact I wouldn’t be surprised if those modern stainless daggers are way more laterally durable than the original v42. (Notorious for it’s weak point)

Most the modern replicas of the v42 and ww2 daggers are poorly made and display pieces first. The best ww2 dagger replica being made is IMHO probably the Hill Knives Fairbairn Sykes replicas. These are truly ready for the battlefield.

Also I promise you no thin tipped dagger would stand up to any of those types of tests anyway. The guy in the video seems like he is trying to prove a point and thus is a biased tester. If he had set out to prove carbon steel blades were not durable he would have broken a carbon blade too.

The tests are stupid. The knives that are best for thrusting into humans will be some of the worst for thrusting into sheet steel. The knives that survive thrusting into sheet steel will be awful daggers.

Thankfully most humans no longer wear sheet metal armour.

I suggest the original poster goes and watches the Cold Steel test videos. He will be blown away!

As a fellow canadian I see what is going on here. Canadians were part of the devil’s brigade so the OP is idolizing it as a knife. He doesn’t understand what a knife is for though so wants a v42 he can abuse and then hold up and say “truly this is the best thing ever”

Lol at the bottom right corner of the videos he posted it says KnifeTests.com . More like knifeabuse.com

Edit: J Johnny Canuck stick around blade forums. I learned so much by reading here. I lurked for almost 5 years just learning before I ever joined. There is just so much info to soak up.

Böker V42.

(Nothing against NOSS knife testing per se but) NOSS knife testing any knife but a dagger is not really pertinent in regards to neither buying a dagger nor the original intended use of a dagger.

A quality modern stainless steel dagger may well be much stronger than the original WWII original.

Hi, who uses the best materials and has the best quality for the V-42 Replica Devils Brigade Knife??

Thank you,

JC :)

CAS hanwei makes a replica that looks nice, their katanas are amazing I imagine they could make a good dagger. Boker also has a replica of the knife your after. The Fox modras is a modernized version with better materials and a more reasonable price than spartan or extrema.

Good luck

What about Case ?
They make one and if I'm not mistaken didn't they actually produce some of the originals ?

... didnt Hill Knives in the Netherlands also make a V42 replica ... ?

Yes, I recommended hill knives up above. Scroll up I posted a pic of their dagger. It is actually a FS dagger though, not a v42. I said if you want a quality replica ww2 dagger the Hill Knives version may be it.

Hickory n steel Hickory n steel yes case did make some of the originals. Here is their updated version featuring the Besh wedge. (Should be a strong enough tip for OP)
