Let's here your input. I'm eventually looking for the sharpest tactical knife out there over 4 inches. Is there a list or is there someone that knows what the actual sharpest blades are. Let me know....

The sharpest blades come from the person with the best skills , not want you want to hear I know .

From the factory Emerson have came sharper then any knife . 2nd would be the microtech socom elite .

Custom hands down Rj Martin , if you ever get a chance to handle a fresh edge from rj you'll see what sharp really is .

Spyderco make some of the best production cutters. Very sharp factory edges and very thin, high grinds are a great combination.

I don't think this is really relevant, unless you mean the thinnest ground?

Regardless of how sharp a knife comes from the factory/maker it will dull with use...

Then it will be up to you to sharpen it whether that involves re-profiling or just honing.
Actually, why wait? You can make it as sharp as you want the day you get it....

My sharpest from the factory knives have been mostly Spyderco, but I've had some Moras that have come ridiculous sharp also. However, I would not classify any of those as Tactical.

I would have to say that Murray Carter gets them the sharpest from the shop. They have been easy to touch up as well, since the grinds were perfect and the edges come in at under 15 degrees per side. But, as others have noted, there are plenty of skilled knifemakers and craftsman who can get a knife where it needs to be.

Learn to sharpen and it doesn't matter. I found the Lansky guided rod system easy to learn and reliable.

Spyderco can deliver their knives very sharp. Same goes for emerson and Zt and cold steel. Im sure there is a lot more

If a knife comes from the factory sharp, you know it's edge geometry and steel are capable of at least that level of sharpness.

Cold Steel gets my vote for sharpest out of the box.

Old vero beach microtechs used to come insanely sharp.

This. For me they have been the sharpest knves hands down.

Spyderco normally has their edge geometry and grinds down pretty well, full flat grinds with an 36 inclusive edge cuts pretty well IMHO.

Cold Steel "World's Strongest Sharpest Knives" just ask their marketing team ;) as far as production knives, if you work on your sharpening skills, you should be able to get even the sharpest of knives another step sharper, so don't let initial sharpness limit your choices. It's like buying a car based on the which has the most gas in the tank at that moment.
