Who's been cut by tip-up carry, and how or why?

I recently bought a Kershaw Brawler and one of the first things I did was switch the clip to tip-up carry. The way I carry is blade low in pocket and against the seam of trousers/jeans/shorts. Has anyone been cut by this method of carry and what would you attribute it too? I mean, if the blade is snug against the seam of the pocket how can it open? Also, assisted opening seems to help keep the blade closed.

I've been carrying modern folders some 20 years now. Had knives open on a me 2 or 3 times. It was always with very loose clothing, like clipped to the pocket of gym shorts or worn IWB in surgical scrubs.

If the blade is long and heavy enough, the detent is on the weak side, and the pivot is well lubed, I guess it can happen. The tip pops up just enough to snag on something.

Never been cut by a knife in my pocket whatever was the carry configuration, tip up it down

Never had any issues with tip up carry but then I'm not running, jumping or rolling around on the floor with a knife in my pocket. Maybe under those conditions one might have a problem.

Outch!:(
I am just making sure the detent is strong enough
I have a horseman with a week detent and I am a little bit more cautious when carrying this one

I've cut myself with each of my knives multiple times, but none have ever opened in my pocket before. I carry the bulk of them tip up.

Never had a blade tip up open in my pocket except when drawing and the thumb stud hangs on pocket seam and opens wave style.
All my benchmade axis locks do/did this. Finally got bit by a partial open blade during draw.

This is why I exclusively do tip-down.

The spine of the knife is held shut by the backside of the pocket, it can't open erroneously in any configuration unless you have the clip on the wrong side.

Here's the whole grizzly story.
I am totally used to carrying most all my EDCs in my back pocket off and on during the day depending on what I am doing/what else I am carrying in strong side front pocket.
First time I ever had even a near miss.
What an eye opener.
(you should be fine front pocket).

Never have, and don't see how it could happen with right pocket tip up carry. I have been cut by a tip down before though.

Tip down has cut me, tip up, no.

Tip up is the only way I carry, plus; the ladies prefer tip up...

80% + of the time carry tip-down.
Have had one pocket-partial-deploy that I can remember.
EDIT: couple other instances remembered during writing, referenced below.

One time I had a tip-up front pocket carry partially open (3-4 years ago with 1st gen Brous Bionic), penetrate the inside of pocket fabric and outside of pant leg material. Was a b*tch getting partially opened knife, hooked/penetrated through two layers of fabric, out of that pocket (in a moving vehicle). Did not cut myself, but got my attention :-o Triangular shiny knife tip penetrating proud just above my thigh, was somewhat come to Jesus moment :-/

I surmised that the knife had worked its way up in the pocket a little, then down with the inside fabric of the pocket catching the flipper tang while at same time or immediately afterword being pushed up in the pocket while sitting/bending. I was sitting in truck when it happened, at least that's where I noticed it (could have happened getting into seated position ...).

I also tend to carry IWB (both folders & fixed-blades), and worry about this same type of thing when it comes to consideration of folders for IWB. In general, I am leary of any tip-up carry with pocket-clip attachment where the tip of the blade is not covered with a fair portion of the handle scale (Bradley Bowie for example of good coverage vs say Brous Bionic that poked outside my pocket that one day). Then again it might just have been the flipper-tab that caused the situ I experienced.

The vast majority of my life (at least since pocket-clips) I have preferred tip-down from a deployment and safety standard (some early and daily carried Spydercos were tip-up like my 1st gen Catcherman, and as I write .. now I can remember a few instances of that knife partially opening attached to my wader-belt). So, it seems my opinions (preference for tip-down carry) are quite possibly based on decades old experiences I have learned and sometimes forgotten (do not recall a first thought, but have firsthand basis & experience).

In general, it been my opinion that tip-up really was the product of the newer flipper generation (knife withdrawal finger-indexed-flipper-tab), and from a knife=tool standpoint (to me a flipper offers little purpose from a tool perspective except as a pressure-point-magnifier and/or bottle-opener ;-) I have been fairly selective/limited in flipper ownership, so a resultant limited recent experience with tip-up carry & use (recent being last 10+ years).

I mean no disrespect to anyone's likes or preferences, these are just my experiences related to the OP question and presented here simply with intention to help. Hopefully, something here of use to others.
