Whose Mark is this?

From what I can find using Google, it was the import mark of Precise International Corporation (PIC), a company which distributed Solingen made knives by Voss, Linder, and Schleiper.
Thanks. But how did you google that? Just type in fist with three arrows?

Precise also later imported knives made by Hattori in Seki Japan. This was common with knife importers at the time as they shifted sourcing from Solingen to Seki when the German costs rose too high.

Looks like someone removed the guard.

Not my knife or pic.

I've always wondered how mine lost the guard but the scales remained intact. Also I imagined it with a much wider guard.

Hmm, maybe they sold a version with no guard, and just used the same size handle scales as on the guarded version.

If the guard was removed I don't think it would have been too difficult to cut/tear it off since they appear to be thin brass.

The guards on those are pretty thin (some companies offered heavier grade models at extra cost), and depending on if the knife takes a bad drop, the guards get loose, bend, or crack out at the sides. Also some guys just liked having not to move around the guard while working, so they'd just break them off. It's pretty common to see some guard mods on these.

PIC is indeed the the importer, they were in business 1954 - through the early 2000's. Their biggest claim to fame was they were one of the earliest and largest importers of Wenger Swiss Army Knives. They were also early importers of Gamo air guns, Aitor knives, and as mentioned Hattori knives.
