Why Are Emerson Trainers BLUE?

Simple question, why are Emerson Trainers blue? Why not red? Or another color?

I'm assuming this goes back to blue guns and other training aids being blue, but blue is an often used color in the knife world.

For example, my Benchmade Bugout, which is my office EDC (no way my slacks will hold up to the abuse of G10 and a wave) which only came in blue for the first year or so.

Also, other well known trainers like the Spyderco and Benchmade designs are red. But my CQC-7B Trainer and my Kershaw 6034TRAIN are blue.

In the gun world, red tends to be used for non-firing guns, and blue for simunition firing guns. The knife world has no such standard.

Just trying to understand the train of thought or origins of using the color blue for trainers.
