Why are there so FEW MOLLE adaptable sheaths... Spec Ops only?

Why is it that Spec Ops seems to make the ONLY generic cordura nylon knife sheath? When it seems like you can get MOLLE webbing on your kids sippy cup these days, how is it possible that there aren't more molle/pals compatible sheaths on the market? Even the Spec Ops really isn't even molle compatible. The webbing on the back runs the wrong way, which is infuriating considering its an otherwise awesome sheath. Spec Ops will tell you you can lace the 550 cord through the webbing, but that's ridiculous. Are there any other cordura molle sheaths I'm missing? Has anyone seen a molle panel that will accept a kydex sheath?

ESEE has the MOLLE back for the 5/6/LS, I think the Junglas has one as well.
Maybe one of those will fit ?

Will a teklok interface with MOLLE?
If not, bladetech makes a MOLLE interface: this one
Tekloks alone will not. At least not the versions I've seen. Those bladetech MOLLE clips look like they interface with existing molle webbing. I'm looking for a sheath that has the webbing, so I can utilize a molle clip like you've suggested.

The ESEE molle back looks like a good option, but at $50, I'm looking at a $100+ sheath by the time I have a kydex sheath made to mate with it. I'm just really surprised there are so few molle knife sheaths.

Aaaahhh, ok. I misunderstood you. My bad. I can't say that I've really seen one of those.

Interesting. I guess I never really thought about it. Let us know what you find.

And I have seen a molle sippie cup. They do exist.

In answer to why so few: most people carry knives from belts or in pockets. Molle is not as popular as you think outside certain circles. Visit REI, Cabela's, Bass Pro, Dicks, etc, etc. How much Molle gear is sold there? Not much if any. Most knives are bough for folks with tactical packs or gear, just outdoor gear.

The new gen Teklok does allow you to secure it on your molle web. They redesigned the belt size adjustment bar which allow you to put it through your molle web.

I think spartan knives has some sheaths like your looking for, but I'm not 100% sure

Lazy Otter, you are my new Internet Best Friend. Spartan makes exactly what I'm looking for. Which is just a good heavy nylon, generic knife sheath with MOLLE on both sides. It even has kydex in it. I'm really surprised so few exist. When Walmart carries MOLLE packs and pouches, you know its a popular feature.

The MOLLE locs from Blade Tech work very well for MOLLE gear.

I also have the RUMP system from RMJ tactical, it is a very sturdy system but not easy on and off.

Thanks Dave, and others... I know there are plenty of MOLLE clip options out there. But they're for mating two objects with webbing. The problem I was having, was finding a physical sheath with the webbing. Is there any way to attach a MOLLE/Malice clip right to one of your Kydex sheaths? That way you could attach a kydex sheath to a webbed pack or vest.

I realize this not exactly what the original post was about, but all pancake Kydex sheaths are MOLLE compatible. The 3rd gen Comp-Tac MOLLE-Lok is good. ETA - Attach molle Lok to kydex with screws.

I use Tactical Tailor MALICE Clips and make horizontal "MOLLE" with cord. I've posted how I do this somewhere on BF before.

You can be innovative. Make your own kydex molle (see Mashed Cat kydex for an example of horizontal kydex MOLLE), attach horizontal webbing to kydex, or just use cord like me.

Yes you can just attach the molle locks to the kydex sheath through the grommets on the sheath. The molle locks have screw holes for mounting on things. Then just click it onto where ever you want to mount it. I use the Esee molle backs most of the time for my sheaths and just drill the holes in the sheaths and mount the grommets where they will fit them. You can make your own kydex sheath with minimal expense too, it won't look as perfect as the pro makers but it will work.

I know David's sheaths will work with those... ;)

Couldn't think of brand when I posted...

I do not follow ?

If you attach the MOLLE loks to a kydex sheath then that sheath will attach to a MOLLE webed pack or vest no problem ?

Do you want to attach a sheath knife to a vest then attach some thing to the other side of the sheath ? kind of a sheath sandwich ?

I am not getting what you are after ?
