Why did the Buck collaborations come about?

Hello Mick, Duane and Strider fans. I recently received an SB-1, a birthday present that my fiancee helped me pay for (I love her!!) There will be more posts on that knife later. But I do have one question for now.

Why did the Buck/Strider collaborations come about? I was thinkingof all of the possible answers to this question, and it made me very curious!

Whatever the reason, thanks for having the collaborations. The SB-1 is an amazing knife, a great companion to my Swiss Army knife. At least until I can afford a gen-U-ine Strider!

I have no idea but my guess...

Strider started making knives and found out that Paul Bos was the best around for heat treating blades.Paul is the head of Buck's heat treating area.

Paul told Buck "Hey you gotta check some of these out" and the rest is history. Could be wrong...
