The Gibbs knife.

Zero Tolerance had one of the greatest product placements ever and didn’t take advantage of it.

Why doesn’t ZT make a ton more of the knife Jethro Gibbs used in NCIS? It’s possibly the most sought after TV knife ever. Its the ZT0301 Tiger Stripe.

I’m not obsessed over getting one by any means, but I’d buy one if they came out again. Its the knife carried by the guy who wrote Rule #9 “Always carry a knife”

I just don’t understand why they refuse to make more.

I may be one of the few, but no appeal for me.
I've seen the show, but I don't regularly watch it and ZT has never had a major appeal to me either.

but it does seem in general, that things that are popular have a way of not lasting

Of course they did. Daryl always had a knife. Busse's mostly.

I forget which season it was when Daryl lost his Busse TGLB, but after that, the whole cast carried an assortment of Gerbers and a bunch of prop no-name type knives. Later in the series, Daryl used those two giant fighting knives with the o-rings on the guard, and I believe I recall reading somewhere that those were actually designed by Norman Reedus himself for the character.

I imagine that the amount of money ZT would be able to pay CBS is pretty negligible in the scope of a big TV show. A 30-second commercial during NCIS costs over $100k. A few years ago, the price was over $135k.

I think his point was that ZT missed the opportunity to pump out a bunch of 301s labeled Rule 9 or something.

I doubt it was done deliberately, but they certainly got some exposure from the show. It apparently is a sought after model because of the show. Why not capitalize on it?

Somehow I missed the Strider connection, so that alone is enough of a reason to not make anymore.
