I just came across my GEC Bullnose Work Knife out of my storage. I believe this was the first run of bullnose farm and field knives by Great Eastern Cutlery. The serial number is 715112. The Blade is O1 Tool Steel.
This knife was carried just a couple of times, and used to open a couple of packages before it was put back into the tube for storage. It has been moved around several times over the years. I noticed that it wasn’t wrapped up in the parchment paper, and was loose in the tube. These Delrin handles gets faint surface scratches that are hard to see unless you angle it just right in bright light, which I was able to display in the photos below. Some very slight patina spots near the stamp on the base of the blade. It’s never been sharpened and still has the factory edge. There are also a few tiny rust spots on the back of the handle that can easily be removed. It has a firm lock up in the half and opens positions. The original bullnose logo on the blade seems to be slightly fading. Other than opening a few packages and being carried a couple of times, this knife is basically unused.
