I couldn't have been more surprised today when I saw, sitting on the front seat of my pickup, a box which turned out to contain a perfect WWII by Kumar. No note, not email, no conditions.

My thanks (on behalf of some unknown soldier or Marine) to The Anonymous Doner and my you never run out of Heinekens to enjoy in the warm Nevada afternoon or reasons to enjoy them!

This one will be en route to Kuwait by Tuesday. May it give its bearer the boldness and means to prevail over all foes. Again, thank you and please pass my appreciation to Kumar for his excellent work and to Pala for his generosity as well.

This is the dog gonedest bunch I think i have ever come in contact with. I've only met a couple of them but from what I can learn on this forum they are all in the same league. Your sure are right Uncle Bill the forum is full of good guys. except me of course.:)

Pappy, I understand what you're saying, but I think we'll keep you around anyway. ;)

Provided of course, you keep taking care of any snakes in the ( forum's ) grass. :p

I guess that's something we're long overdue appointing here - the H.I. forum's
official resident snake control officer. Just as long as you don't go chopping off any one eyed trouser snakes, that is.

That sound about right to you, Unc.? :D :D :D

I will second that motion about the good guys here.

Two Christmases ago, someone here sent me a HI khukuri and really brightened up my Christmas like it never did before.

I haven't thanked him publicly, now I am. His name is Kenny Roberts but I don't see him around here anymore.

So wherever you are Kenny, here's a toast to you and those like you. Cheers! :)

Thanks to good guys we have been able to:

Bring Bura back thanks to decent med treatment and continuing meds which are relatively expensive in Nepal.

Continue to support Murali when he is not able to work due to TB.

Take care of all the shop accidents -- recent example: apprentice took a hit in the leg from a khukuri that got away from him at the buffing wheel. Three months off with salary + hospital bill.

And just a week ago the village sarki was about to lose his mud house because he couldn't pay the mortgage he had taken out on it. We gave him $300 to pay off the mortgage. Yeah, $300. That's a year's work for an average sarki.

And there's more but that's enough to get the idea across.
