Please post pics of the knife you receive in this thread. Check in with the maker as to whether they want public or private feedback on the knife. Please be constructive.

My knife arrived today. It’s gorgeous, and very sharp. I’m waiting for the maker to confirm if they want public feedback or not. Not much to critique, other than very minor details, and personal preference things. It’s much nicer than my submission.

Hopefully we get some pictures of what everyone is receiving, this seems like something i want to join in on.

WooHoo - My KITH knife arrived last night!!

It's razor sharp and ready to put to work! This weekend, my family is having Thanksgiving, so the timing couldn't be better. I'm really looking forward to putting it too work in the kitchen!

Thank you K kdnolin - for participating and for sending me your knife!!

(Please excuse the crappy pics - the LED lights in my basement shop are extremely harsh. The very light scratches that show up in the pics are all but invisible to the eye!!)

Bummer I can’t see them :(

Kim called it Manitoba Maple (on the handle and saya); I'm pretty sure it's called Box Elder in the US.

Manitoba maple also goes by big leaf maple and box elder. It has a high probability of creating burls, curly or quilted figures. Nice pieces are often use in guitars. It’s a soft, fast growing wood. Harder than spruce or poplar, but softer than walnut. I have quite a few trees on my property, but none of them are very big, as they were stunted by the pines and poplars. For knives, it’s beast to get it stabilized.

Kim has come a long way ythis last year, with some really nice knives. He is also great at finding great wood. We do a lot of horse trading, wood for guitars in exchange for heat treating.

Any luck uploaded your knife you received?!

I took pics tonight. It’s much nicer than the knife I submitted,

This is a very well made knife, and it slices really well. If I was going to nit pick compared to perfection, the scales are not 100% perfectly symmetrical, but they are better than the ones I did. You really have to examine with a fine tooth comb to see any issue here. In the same vein, the edge bevel is slightly bigger on one side than the other. That is regally getting picky, and again this knife is better than the one I made. I’m only making these comments to offer suggestions when going to the next level, like $500.00 plus knives. I don’t do many of those myself. This is a really well made knife. This knife is really pretty much flawless.

My only real feedback is a matter of personal preference. I like scales that don’t go so far forward, as I use a pinch grip a lot. Others like them like this. Just make sure the owner gets what they want.

thank you very much Gene! I really love this knife. I have to stress this knife is much nicer than the one I submitted. Great job!
