So what boots does everyone prefer? I'm in the market for some new work boots and i find this topic to be daunting sometimes (must be how newcomers to the knife world feel). So many brands, styles, materials, etc to choose from.

I'm not as lost as I've used to be because I've had to have boots for work about 6 years now, but still very indecisive.

For my work boots they have to have a pronounced heel, full leather upper, and a safety toe. And i prefer 6" or taller and a shank because nails/debris and rolling the ankles are a possibility out there.

And feel free to share about other boots that aren't that criteria. Just for reference to others, and for my day off/work around the house boots.

Also to note, i work in construction environments and also the customer service biz (in and out of people's house's).

And so far i have had:

2 pairs of 8"Redwing Dynaforce. Not the most comfortable boots, but not really too uncomfortable. They both lasted about 2 years each.
A pair of Timberland Pro Titans i think they were called. The most comfortable so far, but lasted about 8 months before the sole split apart on me. Not off the boot, but from the out and midsole.
Then the ones i have now that I'm not digging are a pair of Georgia Boots. Wellington style, non insulated, slip ons, and no cusion pretty much. It was one of their cheapest ones, but will come in handy as a pair of clean/dry back up boots.

I wear Thorogood, have a few pair. I have an older pair I need to get resoled. Most comfortable boot i've ever worn, so of course they've discontinued that model.

Carolina makes some nice boots several styles and options and I've had good wear from Carolina boots ... and they make extended sizes and widths which is one reason I like them ... another I find very comfortable are Irish Setter boots.

I have had some Redwing's I liked but not for a few years now ... Wolverine makes some that may fit your criteria also.

For Wellington Style I always have Justin work boots very comfortable and they hold up great.

The best boots I've ever had and what I wear currently are Chippewa 26330's. Very solid boots. If you want something sturdy and comfortable you should check them out. I work 16 hour days 5 days a week and another 9 on Saturdays and they never get uncomfortable....

I wear these WORX brand boots from Redwing. Mainly because my employer pays for them. I wouldn't call them super comfortable but I never experience any discomfort either. I wear them 40 hours a week in a warehouse environment and sometimes on weekends.

Mine are going on 2 1/2 years of wear and I don't expect to need a new pair for several more months. Might even last another year. The best thing I like about them is the zip up side. Easy on and off and the laces can still be adjusted if they loosen up. I'll get another pair just like these when it's time to replace them.

My favorite boots were discontinued a few years back. They were John Deere Oil Rig Work Boots. You might check out their current line.

For the record, I used them for everyday boots that I could also wear on the motorcycle and help support my bad ankles while walking, so I can't vouch for longevity in harder industrial use.

Redwings 877 boots are like slippers I’ve been wearing them for years. Want a cheaper option thorogoods are also comfortable but no where near my redwings.

Timberland Pro Rip Saw.

Composite toe, puncture resistant, logger heel (obviously), padded throat and tongue for those of us with bony feet. Chinese made, unfortunately, but the most comfortable pair of boots I've ever had. No wear-in period.

I use this stuff on 'em.

Picture is probably huge. It was mixed by a smokejumper to fight the fact that the red fire retardant they use is caustic, and dissolves leather. There's no boot in the world that will stand up to what I do (I emailed Danner, and they said they didn't have anything), but this helps.

I wear Danner Quarry Boots at work, I am on my first pair, been wearing them for about 9 months now. I have the natural leather version.

Keene is my brand for life. Not just boots either but all sorts of footwear. I recieved amazing customer service and they are very comfortable! I wear the "Milaukee" style.

Lacrosse, Carolina and Timberland have all been my best and most comfortable boots for wide feet.

When needed, I wear timberland pro pit boss. They are a bit on the heavy side, but comfortable and priced right.

I have been wearing terra brand boots the last 3 pairs. Comfortable and they last a long time.

Went with these right now. A local boot store had them bogo 50% off. Keen Mt Vernon's and Carolina Lo Bruno's. Im fortunate enough to have a huge cloths allowance from work to get another pair.
Any Ohio or Kentuckians know of any stores that have a huge boot selection?

What local store did the Keens come from? I haven't found anywhere around here with any selection of Keen at all (gander mountain use to stock 2 male and 1 female keen boot and one m&f pair of hiking shoes but stopped stocking keen all together after the rebrand thing last spring) and they're my favorite boot & shoe brand.
To comply with BFC shills rules dont post the price or a link but just the store name is aloud.

Edited to add: after the gander mtn rebranding thing, AFAIK nothing has changed with Keen...

Currently I'm really liking my 5.11 ATAC side zip boots, next I'll be trying the under armor sides zips but with these 5.11's it doesn't seem like that will be happening all that soon.

Got the Keens at Scioto Shoe Mart in Marion Ohio. I live in Marion, OH and am from Ky. There's alot of Redwing stores up around here and Columbus, but haven't found alot with different brands.
