I am building one to put my grinder on (and disk grinder eventually). The stand I have is just too wobbly. I'll just build a simple sturdy workbench. I was wondering if any of you might have some tips or pearls of wisdom about workbenches.

I built two, one for each of my grinders, out of 2 X 4s for the frame and white melemine (I think that's what it's called) for the tops. I didn't bother putting the back two legs on - just screwed the back of the frame into the wall of my garage. Simple, but sturdy and cheap.

I had a buddy give me a hand to weld a stand!!this thing is a tank..,i had my 2 wheel grinder on it to begin with, then swapped it out with the kmg :). cost me about $100 to make.

heres my only pic,i need to take some good ones!!

I would love to see full pics of your metal workbench. Even if I'll probably have to settle for wood for now anyway.
I am not sure if I'll go with melamine for the top or just plywood?
As far as height, do you guys grind standing up or sitting down?

Thanks for the help.

I mounted my KMG so my work is centered on the platen when grinding (standing up).

harborfreight has tool stands for $19.95 Said 300lbs load rate on it. I put a 2" thick top on it and tested it with my 250lb seams solid.
