Would any of you make a custom blade for a Leatherman Wave?

I started a related thread in the Blade Discussion Forum but then decided I should inquire in the Custom Knife Forum about a custom blade for the wave.

I got the idea from Doug Ritter at Equipped to Survive who said "The use of the Torx head fasteners to hold the tool together opens up the potential for easier, if not easy, substitution of a better quality knife blade. The precise fit requirements of the liner lock make it more challenging that otherwise, but a good knife maker with experience making similar style folding knives should be able to do the job."

It looks like the Wave actually uses TORX Plus tamper resistant fasteners with five lobes instead of six, but I imagine some knife makers have access to these (distribution is limited to OEMs and authorized service technicians).

I'd like a sturdier blade (drop or spear point or tanto) made out of better steel (VG-10, D2, BG-42 or the like--or Talonite :D )

Ahh! Now it makes sense. I read the title and thought you were offering someone a leatherman Wave in exchange for making a custom blade...

This is actually an intriguing idea. I'd like a Damascus blade for my Wave while we are at it!
