There is one local to me. I’m new to knife making and not sure if this style works for knives. They are asking 1000 for it. Thanks.

Your money might be better invested in Knife HT oven. IMHO it will work but depending on the size it might use a lot more power unless you plan on doing many blades at once.

Thank you. Is the difference between a knife oven and this one the vertical layout or just the size? I’m certainly not opposed to doing many at once. From my research it draws 9amps at 240v. Doesn’t seem like exorbitant power use. Would the quality of heat treat be lesser with this style? Thanks again.

Being vertical is not the problem. Some top of the line HT ovens are vertical (Jen-Ken Air Bath).
The bigger issue is the controller. It looks like a kiln setter type, which won't work for knives easily. You could change out the control for a knife oven type for about $500, but that raises the price.

9 amps at 240V =2160 watts. Ok, but not a fast HT oven.

Ok great. Glad to know that. Was close to buying it. I appreciate the advice!
