I'm thinking of dropping the sawback, guys. Gonna be hard to get it done right at a reasonable cost. :(

Plus, the voting seems pretty split on it. If I do keep it, it might have to be an add-on ($30 or so).

I understand, but I only want a sawback design. If it's an add-on, so be it. Thanks for the heads up.

It would still make a great camp blade without the sawback. Better for chopping and battoning.

Whatever this "beast" ends up being...... I am still in....
Do what you have to do.......;)

I would be very , very , very, tempted by something like drawing #1 or , #2. I would (personally) have no use for a swa on the back of a knife since I already carry a folding saw. Any chance of a 3/16 inch thick blade at this price? I'm not so hardcore that I would need a full 1/4 thick blade with the things I do.

Yes - I am strongly considering 3/16" oversize stock as well.

Dan, I'll take one of those if you please.....cant wait to see the finished prototype.

Dan,

While it isn't all that practical, I would want the option of the sawback even at an additional cost. Count me in ;)

ok - seems interest is growing....let's get a design thread started.
