I have been looking for a couple budget knives for the kitchen. We have the Benchmade Prestigedges, Kershaw, and some other nice kitchen knives but my wife likes to toss them in the dishwasher. So, I went looking to purchase some Victorinox kitchen knives. The local store had recently received a shipment of Wusthof's new series, which seems to be a budget series intended to compete with Victorinox. I liked the style of a couple of the Wusthofs and thought I would give them a try. Here is a link http://www.wusthof.com/desktopdefault.aspx/tabid-101/52_view-147/categories-147

We have been using them for a few weeks now and edge retention has been better than I expected. I think Wusthof used a stainless steel but the carbon content must be relatively high as the knives will spot or rust more easily than most our other kitchen knives. Thought I would share my experiences with you all in case anyone is interested in a reasonably priced kitchen knife (or knives).
