Is this website legit for those who do not want telemarketing to call their cell/ mobile phones? Or is it actually a scam to get your number!?!? From what I understand, it will use up your air time.

Yikes! Wrong forum. Mods, please move to appropriate. Thanks.

Yes, it is a legit website. Though the web address may seem fishy it is actually linked to the Federal Trade Commisions website which is www.ftc.gov. There is a banner at the top of the page that will bring you to the DoNotCall website.

and it works too, used to get 2-3 BS calls a day, soliciting $$ everytime, RARELY get 1 now after being on the list for 2 yrs, if ya get a lot of nuisance calls its a must imho.

Put my numbers on the list when it first came out--rarely get those dumb calls now.

How did they get your cell number? Is it listed somewhere?

I've never received a junk call on my cell phone, so I'm hesitant to sign up for it. My guess is that sham marketing companies simply use random dialers to find cell phone numbers.

Since getting my home phone on the Do Not Call List, we rarely get that crap at home any more. Funny thing, the marketing representatives who were lobbying against the DNC list were among the first to add their home numbers to it. Freakin' sleazy turds...

It has worked great for me. But it only keeps the telemarketers from calling. People taking surveys can still call. And I still hang up on them when they call my house.

I'm glad they don't call like they used to, but I sure do miss messing with them.
