Why are you that hell bent on getting rid of your Springfields now? Recalls happen.
Every vehicle manuf. out there has recalls and safety updates on vehicles, it's normal, it's inconvineint, but normal.
T/C has had at least 2 recalls on the Ventures, Ruger had a recall on the LC9s because they had a bad batch of firing pins that got too hard during heat treat, and obviously Smith has recalls. Hell Kimber dissowned their external extractor 1911 and replace your slide for free if you have one because they were known to be turds and they're aware of it, and Kimber had issues out of their polymer custom.
Ammo manuf. have recalls as well, Remington, Hornady, etc. Does that mean you're not going to buy any of those brands of ammo?
Guns are guns, they're pieces of machinery made by man, they're not magical pieces of metal. Sometimes sh*t just happens, parts break, parts get a bad heat treat.
Live with the burden, move on.
