Great news for me cause I love the knife and have been campaigning a long time for a return . :):thumbsup:

But also a very hopeful sign for the direction the new management will take . :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

The reintroduced Talwar is s35vn and made in Taiwan . Smoother type G10 handle .

Not the cheapest crap stainless and China mainland , as many have feared would happen .

Also , the company is giving the fans something we've been asking for . Responsive is good !

I can hope this means that many of the best quality Cold Steel models will continue to be available .
 
For some reason the thought that cold steel might just continue percolating along undiluted despite the retirement of the much decried Thompson is mildly amusing.
 
That's good news as I've been wanting a Talwar XL, but the prices of the older ones have held me off from purchasing one. I hope their made in a good flavor of steel. If the new company really wanted to take off I think good knife steels will go a long way toward sales.
 
Not as thrilled. If I wanted one I'd been had one and most people who do already have one.

They are ignoring the requested arc angel and I think it's because on the laws of manufacturing and importing bailsongs and parts. They seem to not respond to anything about it. I assume they have no plans to start manufacturing in the USA or making any balisongs.

:rolleyes: I didn't mean to say that every fan desire will be fulfilled . That was never gonna happen anyway .

But this allays many fears that everything will be as cheaply made as possible .

Many were also afraid that the over 4" blade folders and other martial oriented types would be disco'd . So this XL Talwar reintroduction is a relief .

I'm not saying everything will be totally fine , but maybe not a complete disappointment either . :)

There are many who may be late comers to this. There may quite a few people out there who don't have one or didn't get around to buying one before. Somebody thinks the demand is there or it would not have been approved for production.

And you aren't happy because CS is avoiding possible legal exposure stemming from production/importation/sales of what has been deemed an illegal weapon?
Now why do you suppose they would want to do that.....

They have continued ads on FB were Lynn Thompson left off, they said they are bringing back a few discontinued models and introducing few new ones too. Looks promising, alot better than the junk Kershaw is coming out with.....

Heh, what? GSM made their Youtube video asking which models people wanted to see, and the Talwar was by far the number one knife requested, both in the video comments, as well as the Cold Steel facebook groups. Dudes want this knife, and those who already have one, usually want more. People are posting up their CS collections over there all the time and have four, five, six of those things. People wanted the Talwar, GSM has appeared that they will deliver.

I'm not defending this or other shortfalls .

Good intentions and promises are only a hopeful sign .

Got to have followthrough to get those products into our hands ASAP !

Yes it's called cold steel wants your input. While I do see a lot of comments about the Talwar do you not see all the comments about the arc angel? I am even counting more arc angel comments then the Talwar.


Just because they won't do it or bring manufacturing to the USA doesn't make the Talwar the more requested knife to bring back into production.

All that means is that is aligned with the companies agenda as I previously stated they probably have no intention of making another balisong because of the legality issues.
Pretty sure the arc angel is the most requested knife they wanted back since it was discontinued. People were even disappointed when they announced a new balisong and it was part of the FGX plastic series.

I believe the demand for the arc angel is bigger then the Talwar and always has been. The entire balisong community has been asking for it for years, everyone new to the balisong community says the same.

I am an admitted Cold Steel fanboy.

It’s good to hear there may hope on the horizon yet!

I had not picked one of the Talwar series up previously. It’s awesome if they are going to offer them again.

Quiet Quiet reviewed the Bush Ranger folder a while back. It pushed me over the edge and convinced me to grab one. It has quickly become a favorite, and now have another one in my post office box waiting for pick up.

What I love most about Cold Steel is the value in relation to performance. I feel like I’m getting a bargain on a product that offers my most perceived “bang for the buck”.

I have expectations that the new company can carry the torch in a positive way.

We’ll see!
 
Glad it’s the 5.5” version. This is great news. I just hope the supply can keep up with the demand. Gonna be a bummer if it says “Out of Stock” the moment it’s up for grabs. :D
