I'm sorry, but I just love these things.

I wasn't sure how I would feel about a liner lock version of this knife, as I really like the integral mono lock of my "other" Apogee, but this is one solid piece. It's a bit thicker and heavier than it's mono lock brother, but also has an incredibly strong lock up and buttery smooth action. That blade just glides open.

Anyway, just wanted to share. I did some searching around these forums before I bought this one, and couldn't find any pictures of one quite like this.

Thanks Darrel- very nicely done!

Chiro,

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that Darrel uses very thick stainless liners in his Apogee and EDC liner-locks. The color you see is heat colored stainless. Striking just the same don't you agree?

Sure Chiro, you can have it....

...when you can pry it from my cold, dead hands!

(which might not be too far off- this friggin' cold is kickin' my arse!)

Yeah, blademan is correct. The liners are heat colored stainless, and fairly thick ones at that. Around the edges of the liners it appears gold, but under the slots it goes from a gold to a reddish color. Pretty neat looking.

I'm not the biggest fan of carbon fiber, but the finish Darrel endows these things with is really striking. Looks sort of like snakeskin, and it "moves" when you hold it at different angles to the light. And you gotta love the 420V as well.

Definitely a keeper, I think.

Oh yea, thats a sweet knife. I love how he does that coloring on the SS Liners inside the Carbon fiber slots. Do you have a pic of what the locking part looks like on that knife.

Thanks,Matt
