Yet another request for an edc flashlight recommendation...

I'm looking for an edc light that won't break the bank. On impulse, I picked up a Nebo CSI Edge, and it was rubbish. Thinking it was a lemon, I got another, and it was also rubbish. Now, I knew that they were hardly top quality, but neither lasted more than six weeks of minimal, gentle use; my semi-disposable Harbor Freight lights do better than that.

Here are my requirements:

- 1 AA battery

- tail clicky

- not too many settings (hi/low is great, but I don't need to be clicking out Morse Code on the switch through a billion settings every time I turn it on)

- I'd like to stay around a $30 price range.

I have a few suggestions I can throw out.

Trusfire R5-A3: can be had for about $15. Runs great on regular AA, blazes with lithium. Good deep carry wire clip. Glow ring around bezel and glow clicky. Three modes; high, low, and strobe. Has a bluish, cool white tint. Wish the low setting was lower, and don't care much for strobe.

Thrunite Saber: approx $30, very compact AA. Twisty instead of clicky, but has ultra low, low, and high settings with mode memory. Again accepts AA or lithium, very bright on high. No clip included, but might be able to find a Fenix clip that will work.

Xeno E03: also around $30. This is my current EDC. Comes in a few colors and your choice of cool white, neutral white, or warm white. I have a NW and really prefer the tint to my other lights. Also has glow bezel and tail cap. Optional diffuser wands are available. No clip included, but found a Fenix clip that fits perfect. Most recent model has three standard modes, medium, low, high, and three additional "hidden" modes.

Others I looked at but don't have are the Balder HD-1 & SE-1, Olight i2, and Romisen G2

More detailed reviews, pics, etc. should be easy to find around the 'net for any of the above. Happy hunting!

That Xeno E03 looks like just the ticket, but I'll look into the others too. Thanks for the suggestions.

I third the Streamlight!! Great product!! Or go on countycomm and they have one as well

So I went and got the Xeno E03. It seems to be exactly what I want in an edc light; small, simple, well-made, not too pricey, and takes any variety of AA.

Thanks for bringing it to my attention!

great choice, get yourself a quality 14500+charger and that little piggy really screams some lumens ;)
oh and if you wish it had a pocket clip, a fenix ld20 clip fits the tail cap perfectly on the xeno.

My Xeno E03 neutral white bit the dust after only a couple months and was only used as a desk light for finding things indoors occasionally at night. I ended up buying a zebralight sc51w to replace it... good luck with your xeno, come back to this thread someday if it ever fails so we can know...
