Was inspired by Ray's custom thumbstud Yorkies, and had too much time on hands so I figured I'd try it out.
- chopped off the flipper tab
- drilled hole for thumbstud (did this terribly, but it worked out in the end, yay!)
- ground out notch and ramp in the handle to fit the stud
- stonewashed and oxi-darkened the handles.
End results: super relieved it all worked out. Almost ruined it drilling the hole badly, but it works. More handle real estate makes it a real winner for me, plus I like the lines better.
