Of course any knife can do the job. But what about your traditional knife? Which one is your go to apple knife?

I have two and you can tell by the patina that I eat a lot of apples. First is a GEC 99 Wall Street and the second a Northwoods Presidential. Both have full but thin blades. I wet stone them between 13-15 degrees plus leather strophe. I love these knives and love my apples. 😁

I use whatever I'm carrying, but this Schrade 34OT that I bought brand new in 1968 has seen more than a few apples. :D

The super thin California clip on this Schrade 294 is ideal for Apple peeling.

Wow Biscuit...you may have peeled a whole tree or even an orchard by now.

this one gets the job done...

:D I lost it for about two years but it turned up in a box that was left unpacked after moving many moons ago. Still has a lot of life left.

I don't peel my apples. I quarter & core. This has become my go to for that.

I like my #47 viper in canvas micarta.. The shape suits the hand when peeling /slicing apples.. Or an opinel works excellent also

I don't peel apples - the skin has a lot of the nutrients. I do have a favorite apple SLICER, however. Case Slimline Trapper in stainless steel. You guys like your patinas, I like a knife that I can just rinse off in hot soapy water after the fruit cutting and not have to worry about oiling it.

I did use a Case Small Texas Jack for apple slicing quite a bit, but that was when I was working on developing a patina for it by regular use. I was successful in that experiment, and once my curiosity was satisfied, I went back to the Slimline trapper for normal usage.

When I am at home, I have kitchen knives that are much better suited to the task. In fact, since I still have most of my teeth, I usually just bite into an apple and eat it without benefit of cutlery.

The Lord of the Apples....(especially because it's the knife I usually carry at work, and that's where I peel more apples and fruit - I use my kitchen/table knives when I'm home)
My Opinel ;)

A perfect slicer-peeler blade. 👍🏽

I do not peel either, but I do like to slice my fruit when I eat it. This is a pear, with my favorite knife, which is my Queen Made Winchester Eureka Whittler.

I'm a slicer too. I halve the apple, cut out the core, then make thin slices on one half.... then the other.

My favorite knives for this task are: Case peanuts, Case Canoe, and a GEC Watch Pocket Sunfish. I'll try to take a pic of the group later today.

I'm also a slicer, and I'll use whichever knife is in my pocket

My professionally polished Tapio Wirkkala Hackman Puuko. Incredibly sharp, incredibly thin edge. Traditional? Dunno. Sorry no pic at this time.
