This is the only picture I have of my 8" french-style Global. It's the best slicer of all my knives. Second would be my Calypso III in ZDP-189.

I keep the small blade of my vic huntsman at hair whittling sharpness.

In my experience, Helle laminates or Mora laminates, when properly sharpened
will shave the hair off a knats arse. The new Mora differentailly tempered are also
great cutters when properly sharpened. Some of the Brusletto stainless are real
cutters also, even tho I tend not to go for stainless steels.

Here's my top two sharpest atm. I've whittled hair with both of these. It's a bit harder with the S&W as it is thicker and want to pop through it but if patient it will split hairs. Not very good at taking pictures but you can still recognize the knives

The brown SG2 Blur in the middle. After taking it down to 30 degrees, it will peel free hanging hair.

Prior to working the edge on the SG2, it was the factory grind on the ENER-G II. One of these two end up in my pocket 90% of the time.

i am with rich on this, my first sharpest knife was the laminated mora;

I can get this sharp on any knife now though, but this was the first quality steel knife i handled, and it was great. this is my only knife that i haven't put a convex edge on...

My Kershaw Lahar reground by Tom Krein to .010 inch

the puppy will split hairs, whittle them while they are still on your arm, or just plain pop them off. I honestly think that i would not feel it slice me open if that were to happen (heaven forbid).
