Has anyone handled one of these Zatoichi stick swords by Paul Chen? Does it have a visible temper line? Please reply... I really need to know! Thanks!

I cannot tell you for sure, as I've never personally handled one, though I have heard a bit about it. It has an A-2 blade, so it will not have a hamon unless it is falsified with etching or other methods. I believe it has a very odd shaped tang with all sorts of hooks and stuff in the shape to keep it in the handle, which I think is filled with glue. I can't tell ya much more about it, other than I'm not a stick-sword type...nor am I fond of CAS Iberia's marketing tactics.

Shinryû.

The Chen Zatoitchi sword is O.K> for a $100 sword. The hamon is etched and the tang is shaped like a square way, that you would see on an ociliscope. I tested one of these and the tang held on due to the epoxy used to hold the tang into the wood. I used it on a cow spine test cut and the blade chipped very bad. A one use weapon it is. I guess like a disposable diaper.

Doesn't sound like the cow's gonna be much good in the future either!

I cut it, and I cut it, and it's STILL too short!
