Had a ZT 0200 for a short while then sold it. Kind of regret. Now that I got a ZT 0909, I wonder what 0909 is missing and adding as compared to ZT 0200. Here is what I see:

Similarities:
- both are beefy, heavy, and built-like tank
- liner lock
- g10 handle.

Differences:
- 0200 on washers vs 0909 on bearings
- 0200 with 154cm vs 0909 with s35vn
- 0200 recurve blade vs 0909 drop point
- 0200 DLC coated vs 0909 stonewash
- 0200 crocodile skin like g10 vs 0909 nearly plain g10
- 0909 flips way better than 0200
- current price: both discontinued but 0200 is rarer and sells at least $150; 0909 is still readily available and sells at $130ish

Personally I like more the contour and pattern of 0200 handle while the steel and blade shape of 0909.

What is your thought? Does anyone feel 0909 cannot replace 0200?

I never had a 200. They were discontinued before I got into ZTs.

The 909 is one of my favorite knives. Only the recent 920 has knocked it down a peg. I'm a sucker for recurves, love frame locks, and I can appreciate the fact that the 920 has a full titanium grip yet is more pocket friendly than the beefy 909.

That said, I still think I would pick the 909 over the 200. I'm not big on coated blades although ZT's coating is some of the best and most wear resistant.

No secret that I love my ZT0200(kw). The 0909 never appealed to me aesthetically; and I didn't like it in hand when I tried it at a brick and mortar. I don't doubt that some will like it better; but, for me, it doesn't come close to replacing the 0200.

(When the model was discontinued, I bought a "backup" 0200sw... and, like a dumbass, sold it a year or so later because I wasn't going to need it. I'm not, and I realize that, but I still regret selling it)

I prefer the 0200 because it’s something a little more different. I’ve also grown tired of ball bearing flippers. The 0200 actually flips really well for being on washers, much less finicky than my Hinderer MP-1. If the 0909 had been a thumb stud opener on washers I’d have loved it.

far prefer the 0909. its the more useable heavy duty knife in my opinion. 0200 was a great knife for its time like it as well, but wasnt all that sad to see it go. the 0909 never caught on, but im glad i have a couple of them.
