The ZT 0450CF looks just a bit small; the ZT 0452CF looks kind of big. Other than that, they look nice, and I'd like something in that style. Is there one in between in size, preferably a Sinkevich?

0452CF is large... but rides decent in the pocket. I owned* both and sold the 450 cause it was a tad small and slippery in hand. Both rock on the blade size the handle ratio + weight scale.
The 0452 is the best flipping action I have seen with the 450 about on par. But that big blade flying out faster is very cool. Its like an auto. Buy the 452 and dont look back IMO.

*- I lost the knife :-(

Ideally and personally, ZT would've created three models of different sizes where they'd cater to people's desires and legal restrictions. There are places where the blade length cannot exceed 3 inches, 3.5 inches and 4 inches.

ZT 456? 804?

Anyone have any idea how long the cutting edge on the 452 is? I think the blade is 4.1". But in CT, it's the length of the "edged portion" that the statute restricts. Not that I'd carry a katana with only the first 4" from the tip sharpened, but just wondering if I could plausibly squeeze the 452 into the sub-4" category and pass the straight-face test if say, there is an edge on only 3.9" of blade. Though, if you measure the blade along the actual sharpened edge, that cutting edge would probably be over 4", unless I've forgotten my geometry from highschool.

Most legal statutes go by blade length which is a straight line from the forward most portion of the handle to blade tip.

I've seen cutting edge measured as both a straight line and the curved portion and only measuring the sharpened portion excluding sharpening choil.

Oops. Just saw that Bigbluefish at least suggested a couple alternatives. Thanks for that. I wound up buying the 0452CF from GPknives.

How big is the ZT 0460 supposed to be? While it is a more radical trailing point knife it sort of reminds me of the 0452 that went through a wormhole and got warped abit.

edit: according to the stats I found on a website the 0460 might be exactly what you are looking for.

Let me know if you find it... I've been looking for it too. I think the 0450CF is too small, would be perfect with 3.4" blade and a longer handle.

Yes, they really need a 3.5" Sinkevich, in this profile. That's the one I'm waiting for.

Lapedog, thanks for the referral. I'm not sure what I think about the aesthetics of that knife. For the moment, I'll stick with the 0452CF, which is on its way.

Gideons: Exactly. I'm kind of impatient, though.

Although the 0460 looks quite radical at first look at it closer, especially next to a picture of the 0452. The design is not nearly as swept as you first think.

It is also built very similarly and 3.5 blade.

Both ZT450CF and 0460 have blade lengths of 3.25 inches. You can see them in the video below:
