I got my 0707 Monday. It flew right open but the drag of 2 detents with no break in
was obvious. It gets smoother with every flip. I love the way it looks and it weighs less
than my 0450CF...with a longer far slicier blade. Appearance wise it looks like Sinkevich
designed the blade...I find it very attractive and a real looker.
It weighs 2.386 oz on my scale.
450cf 2.435 oz
Ikuchi 2.31 oz
0460ti 2.909 oz
ZT 0470 3.170 oz
The blade is longer than all of the above knives and seem robust enough except for the
last 1/4 to 1/8...the tip looks fragile.
I bought it specifically for use with light clothing for gentleman EDC with a nod towards
making myself feel not totally unarmed as well. Mission accomplished. For weekend use the
0452 and 0462 are a far better choice for heavier duty use. But if you want a fine dress
knife with a very slicey blade that is light...your search is over. In this role it is peerless
IMHO.
I must also say it came razor sharp...nice. As far as feel in hand...it is excellent. Aside from
the tip, it feels light yet very stiff and strong...like a much thinner and lighter 0452.
Like most of you I have lots of knives but I am on the eternal quest for a decent sized airweight
knife...and this knife rocks that role well. I am very glad I bought it!

Highly recommended...provided you understand it is not a beater...but no mere looker either.

Thanks for the review. Glad to see something special coming out of ZT. I'm going to try to hold out that they make a TI version of this :D. I probably won't be able to wait. Cheers!

I should add that if fall shutty is very important to you avoid this blade. It has 2 detents
to produce drag and the blade is light as well. Even broken in I think a finger push will
always be needed to close it. It is nothing like my ZT 0462 which is a finger guillotine.
Open is epic...closing has drag. I don't mind this and knew going in.

But fluid closing just is not part of this knifes repertoire.

I really like mine too other than the tip seeming fragile. The tip is the one thing that has me thinking about selling. I wouldn't mind seeing the 2 detents on more zt products.

I picked one up and am really impressed. Mine also flies open with authority, and yes, you need a digit to close. In my eyes there's nothing at all wrong with that.

Considering how light this knife is, you get a great amount of cutting edge. The action is typical ZT (top notch as far as I'm concerned) and the looks are plain sexy!

I'm stoked I got one and would highly recommend the 0707 to anyone willing to chat with me - while socially distancing of course!

Glad you dig it C cistercian , I’m looking forward to getting one. But I’d have to argue that it most definitely can be a hard use piece. I mean, it ain’t for prying but it ain’t for opening mail only either. Can’t see this not stripping wire, or scoring sheetrock, or popping the banding off metal studs...

Do you need to push it all the way closed with your finger, or will it close if you give it a solid nudge, either with or without shaking your wrist to help it?

There are degrees of hard use! More than enough for EDC and emergency use...not my first
choice for boring a hole in a board with the point! (Shaman would work well)
I think it is an epic knife.

I’m not sure if all the 0707 are all the same but mine takes constant pressure to close. While the knife may be cable of hard use this is not one I would consider for that.

I wish it was a wharnie...

Like a 0770CF but manual...

This. Yeah I really had my hopes up, especially since participating in the announcement thread where people were speculating on what it was.

Not going to lie, I'm really disappointed. Chalk it up to another recent ZT fail IMO. Don't get me wrong, my 0562cf and 0450cf are probably a couple of my favorites in my collection but this one just doesn't do it for me personally. Glad some are happy with it!

Great review OP, but where are the pics??? lol

I mostly like the looks of it.. can't really tell what's going on with the butt end though?
