Is there a difference between Buck stainless steel and Case stainless steel?
I used a Worksharp Field sharpener (I believe that's what they had on display at the knife sharpening counter downstairs) while at the store recently, and sharpened my Buck 501 on it. It sharpened that knife very well. I liked it so much that I bought one at Bass Pro when I got back home in Memphis.
I tried touching up the spey blade on my Case Stockman (in Tru sharp stainless steel), and it is not sharpening up as expected. I even tried the Benchstone sharpener, and it's not any better. It's frustrating me, and these sharpeners are about to get thrown out the window.
