Does that stump have termites? Looks like some frass. AKA termite droppings

No. It's my chopping stump and has taken a lot of abuse.

The large divots are from the hammer side of my TOPS "High Impact" axe, using it to split. The "dust" is just that, leftover particles from a lot of splitting.

But it also looks like it could use at least another half-inch of blade. If it had that, I'd probably be all over it.
