Rodent 6 vs M6

I love old school Rats! So far, my Rat collection consists of a 1st gen RMD, Camp Tramp and Rodent 6. I’m definitely getting an M9 once available for a reasonable price. Also thinking of an M6. The specs of my Rodent 6 seem very comparable to the M6. I’m keeping the budget fairly tight and the collection low. Would love to hear some pros and cons of the M6. How similar or different are these two models? Which do you prefer out of the Rodent 6 compared to the M6?View attachment 2274435

The M6 is a spectacular knife. My favorite to come out of the swamp by a large margin.

The ergonomics are second to none (feel like they were made for MY hand), they’re differentially heat treated, they’re tough as hell, they cut well for what they are, chop well for what they are, even whittle pretty good when you choke up. Plus they’re knockout dead damn sexy.

The biggest challenge for you is going to be finding one. Took me years to get the ones I have. I think you’d like it much better than the rodent 6.

XL+ (most XL gloves fit but they’re tight)

Long and wide palms, average length thick fingers. The M6 is a big boy knife. If your hands are small you won’t dig it at all.

I wear large to X-Large gloves, I have slightly short thick fingers and large square palm palms.

I have both and while my M6 is drop point and no top guard (and I love drop point blades!!) I do prefer the M6.

M6 all the way. I'm still kicking myself for not buying one that was for sale back in March. I think about it every day. Some would say thats a problem.
