Hi I have a Schrade + LB7 Bear Paw with a serial # W73955 was wondering about what year it was made & what angle the blade is sharpened to?
This was my Fathers knife handed down to me, it’s in good condition but the blade is not sharp & I’m not sure what angle to sharpen it.

Factory edge on mine; both "Schrade+ (LB7 and LB6) and 1095 carbon steel was around 12 to 16 degrees per side. (with-in manufacturing tolerances of +/-2 degrees.

They suggested 10 to 15° per side, of memory serves.
When it needed sharpened, I took it to 10 degrees per side/20 degrees inclusive. (+/-1 degree with my guided rod sharpener)

I've never had a "Simple" alloy like 440A ("Schrade+")/425HC, or 10xx chip or even roll the edge using a 10° per side/20 degree inclusive edge angle in the 64 or 65 years and counting that I've carried a pocket knife.

Thank you, My father had it around 25 & 30 deg. uneven on both sides.
I’m going start with about 15 on both sides to see how it is.
