Here’s an interesting photo I just took. This photo represents the birth and evolution of a model/pattern.
Pictured are the first Med stockman Schrade made for Buck and then from top to bottom the evolution to the model you get if you buy a new one today. We see Schrade transiting to Camillus then the subtle changes Camillus made early on then the Camillus version that lasted from 72-86. Then the Buck take over in 85 and the small changes to that knife as they learn. We see Buck leaving Cali and the knives they now make in Idaho.i could probably bore you with a lot of info on blade steels and grinds as well but I’ll save that for the Buck collectors I’m just a Schrade and Camillus guy at heart. A friend of mine, Dick, several years older and a retired state trooper, always had a Case bone-handled stainless steel premium stock knife in his pocket. After his passing several years ago, his widow has made me the caretaker of many of his knives, including these two:

These are gently used collectable pocket cutlery to most people, but they're pretty special to me. So Dick, I'm sure you're watching; I'm taking good care of them. And no, Susan didn't give them to me; I paid her a nickel a piece! T-A
