This is the first of two knives that I worked on at the ABS Handles and Guards course a little over a week ago. The blade was forged from 1/4'' 5160 and the handles are curly maple with silver wire inlay and German silver bolsters. I made this knife to be the size of a competition cutter so that I can practice cutting things. I have already dispatched a few bottles and cans.

If you want to see some progress photos of this knife as well as see other photos from the Handles and Guards course then take a look at this thread: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=792947

Wow,that handle turned out great.
A little stain sure makes the maple pop & the inlay reminds me of old buckskinner gear.
I can see an old Hawkin & patchknife with some wire inlay.

That is beautiful chopper:thumbup:

I especially like the inlay on the handle, what a great first attempt.

Some video of the Chopper would be nice, At any rate it is a cool looking knife and so Unique.

Allen, what a gorgeous knife! I can only imagine the work that went into it. Great Job

~A thing of beauty is a joy FOREVER!
