Unknown age of olcut knife

Looking through my Fathers collection of WW2 memories I found this olcut knife. I am under the impression that this is a pre kBAR knife. It does not have KABAR on the blade only Olcut
Union cut co. Olean N.Y.
Any information would be appreciated

A photo would greatly help. It is a myth that the Olcut brand was pre-KA-BAR. There is no proof of when Olcut began but going by Union Cut Co price lists the last year for Olcut over Union Cut was 1937. Olcut is listed in the 1928, 1934, 1937 price lists, disappears in the 1938 price list. I don't have any earlier price lists to determine when the mark began. Every Olcut I have seen has a KA-BAR model just like it although the Olcuts are often made of thinner blade stock than a similar model marked KA-BAR. Sometimes I see knives marked Olcut over Olean Cut Co, so far I have not found an explanation for this.
