This is my first try at an acid wash. Darker than I anticipated, but I’m rather happy with the result. Also had a ferro rod knot put in courtesy of REK Knives REK Knives

Looks great! How long did you have it in the acid wash?
 
5 mins & 20 - 30 seconds. The timer was set for 5:15 but I had to fish it out.
I threw it in a bucket of water within 10 seconds of it coming out of the acid. To stop the reaction.

well ya got guts for trying it for the first time on a knife like that lol I’d be so nervous that I would have to try it on a cheap knife first. Then still be nervous as hell doing it for real.

That ferro rod notch is a significant structural defect there. It cuts most of the way through the spine towards the fuller, creating a weak spot in one of the most highly loaded areas on the blade. I would not recommend people do this with their knife.
