That black locust is gorgeous stuff! Olivewood and bocote look amazing as well.

That Black Locust does look good. Does anyone know if it’s typically stabilized? I would think not b/c of the hardness but I’m unsure.

According to Andy, Black Locust is not stabilized. He says it is unnecessary.

Black locust is a very hard and stable wood already. Up there with hickory and not far off from DI. Very durable for a handle material, and used for fenceposts because of how well it weathers being outdoors. In short - good stuff.
