One of my favorite things about knifemaking is the opportunity to make diverse representations of essentially the same thing. This week I finished two knives, both clearly "hunters."
The first one is forged 5160, with a slotted guard and vintage micarta. Fairly "ABS style."
The second one is my utility hunter model. I'm having a plain version of this manufactured by White River. This one is handmade, in Nitro V stainless, with dovetailed 416 bolsters, red G10 liners, tapered tang, and mammoth ivory. Fairly "Guild style."
