Bad THE BAD Will Moon

Sorry but my opinion is it must stay.

This is a perfect example why certain history topics being removed from schools is a bad idea.

What happens if 5 years from today WM decides to transition back into knife making? His history has been removed. He gets a clean slate. Therefor, there is a very strong chance history could repeat itself.

When he shut his knives down, he insisted he was retaining IP rights on his locking mechanism. That would make me wonder if he's planning to make it again sometime in the future.

As far as I can remember he never reimbursed me, and so much time has passed the interest would be more than the original $$.
 
This guy said SO MANY things that were not accurate and appeared to have a number of alias on this site and others. Based on past behavior and comments above about him still being active as "Victor Moon", there is very little reason take his claims at face value.
 
I'm sure he would like to have his "record" expunged, which would benefit him. But even if he had made everyone whole - which he does not even assert that he has done - would doing so benefit the BF community? That's the overriding concern in this decision, and maintaining the record seems to be important/useful history for the knife community. Plus there should be some general standard developed before deciding whether to do so in this individual case, since other past scammers would probably like their skeeviness wiped too!

I like the implied threat of "resolve amicably" as well - what's his backup plan, filing a frivolous lawsuit that will subject him to sanctions?
 
Well I just spend a good while reading through this thread. Then i googled him. Looks like Will Moon knives are currently being offered on several websites (see Arizona Custom Knives listed March 2023 for example).

Absolutely crazy.

I believe that there was still a member or 2 here in this thread who were never made whole but I'm not 100% certain.

The most unforgivable acts by WM (way worse than his knives/business ethics IMO), were the reprehensible comments/attacks he made when he spoke ill of Charlie MIke, posthumously, as well as referring to Veteran's who served & sacrificed (CM being 1 of them), as "murderer's."

Hall Of Shame!

The only thing that should change here is adding any new aliases he tries to operate under, like this new one. Victor Moon is Will Moon. He's a liar, a thief, and a horrible human. I can see why he wants his record erased. Unfortunately, he's lied in his request to have it erased! Nothing changes with this guy. Thread stands.

That looks a lot like white washing history, something I'm sure The Bad Will Moon would love to have done to his horribly distasteful past. I get it in the cases of clear cut victims of say, revenge porn and stuff like that. But sorry Will Moon, you are no victim, quite the opposite. Your history isn't going anywhere.

Best you can do Will Moon is to never talk to anyone about knives ever again. Never contact anyone in the knife community ever again. Let your history fade in to obscurity. But Will Moon, when you use the name Will Moon, and people search for the name Will Moon, this thread will always come up because of your long history of sleazy shenanigans. You made this bed, now you must lay in it. Or, have you considered a name change? But then you would have to explain that to people who already don't know your past. Quite a predicament you find yourself in. Bet you wish you just hadn't done all that nasty stuff, right?

That alone should keep this thread up. If he had made everyone whole in one way or another I still think the thread should remain up and simply be edited to reflect that, but I could see locking it or taking it down. The fact that he wants it erased without addressing that makes it a hard no from me, at least.
 
I don’t really see how this thread will have much of an impact on him going forward.
