Tired of having a worn out flat platen?
Here are some benefits of grinding with a tungsten carbide platen.

  1. Durability: The tungsten carbide platens are highly resistant to wear, even a 60grit cubitron belt wont make a scratch on it.
  2. Consistent results: These precision ground machined surface of the carbide platens ensures consistent results every time, making it easier to achieve the desired grind angle and finish on your knives.
  3. Flat and smooth surface: The carbide platen provides a flat and smooth surface that allows for more precise grinding and better control over the piece you’re working on.

Buy once, cry once.
The carbide platens are 3mm thick precision ground tungsten carbide.

- 8” - 200mm €135
- 9” -220mm €145 (sold out for now)
- -240mm €155
-10” -250mm €155
-11” -270mm €165 (sold out for now)
Aluminum baseplate is 45€ extra.

All platens are 50mm / 2” wide
Aluminum baseplate can be made on request if you dont want to do it yourself.

The carbide will be attached on it aswell with 3m heat resistant doublesided tape.

These can be fitted just like a glass platen with jb-weld on a mild steel or aluminum backer as shown.

Or for an easier fit with 3m heat resistant doublesided tape.

No need anymore to change out platens after a while and always have straight and flat results of the belt grinder.

Top corner can be rounded off using a diamond burr or diamond flat plate. That will help for the lifetime of the belts.
Also for specific uses the side corners can be rounded off.

For any info just let me know👍🏻

Just an unsolicited endorsement for these platens. This is hands down the best flat platen I have seen! Been using it constantly since I got mine. They are so flat I seldom have much follow on work for flattening tapered tangs. Excellent product.

Really appreciate it! So far these platens hold up great and just stay flat!

Also it really makes it less work to handsand a knife after the grinder wich is great aswell

Another endorsement......

I originally bought mine for a secondary project platen.
At the same time I recently got a high end glass one from a diff vendor.
My glass one wore out WAY sooner than I expected, I assumed I'd get years out of it, not just a few months..... Grrrrrrr.

I swapped out my glass for carbide, now I've been Happy ever since.

Great hear!!
Have the idea it also really depends on the quality of the glass platen, but never the less will never compete tho with a carbide platen.

Enjoy it!👊🏻
