Would it work very well? It has some resistance when taking out the blade so I wonder if it’d work or would it just ruin my pockets. Any way to make it faster and easier to open would be nice but that’s a pricey gamble for my broke ass to take. Thoughts, guys?

Throw a zip tie on it and see if it works for you.
I have a few Trekker/Soldier knives and the smoothest is the GAK version.

I doubt I would ever do it but it would be pretty easy to cut a suitable wave into it.

Does the trekker have a backspring on the main blade?

You don't have to go so far as grinding a wave into it. Just do the ziptie wave mod first and see if you like it.

It's not really suited to this because of the backspring. Too stiff to open and likely to rip your pocket over time.

I tried with the cable-tie but it didn’t work very well. I guess if I’m ever in a situation where I have more money than brains I’ll buy an extra One-Hand Trekker and modify it but today aint that day. :p
