For several years I flared my tube fasteners with two flat head bolts and my vice. After I broke my vice I decided that was not going to be sustainable. I then acquired a nice(and free) arbor press. I still used the bolts but pressed them in the arbor press. Not a bad method but when you drop a screw or get wonky holding everything in place you know it could be better. Tonight I made it better! I created a set of flaring dies from round stock. I roughed them in on the grinder then spun them to final fit with the drill press and a file. When I was done, I built a quick set of scales for an old abandoned blade. Great looking flares that make me happy 😊

I love process posts and insights into techniques. Loveless bolts and flared tubes are my personal favorites. The most bombproof fasteners out there. Can’t break a Siegle anyway. So yea, now the best is bester. Lol. Ingenuity rocks!

Oo-oo-oo-oo, that knife!!!
🤤🤤🤤🤤

Specs please, mi amigo? Hollow or flat ground?

(insert more oo-oo-oo-oo! here)

Edit to add: Really liking that bulbous handle profile. Looks super comfy for long term slice 'n dice.
